
Starting in March, 2026, IGM will be moving from ftp data transfer to Globus to provide customers with faster and more secure data transfer! Moving forward, your Globus ID will be requested when you submit samples to IGM.
**FOR UCSD USERS**
UCSD already has a partnership with Globus! Your Globus ID is your Active Directory (AD) email address. Simply follow these instructions, select "University of California-San Diego" from the drop down menu, press "Continue", and login with your UCSD AD credentials.
**FOR NON-UCSD USERS**
Many organizations and universities have partnerships with Globus and allow you to login with your organization's credentials, but if your organization does not have a partnership, you can create a personal account to access the data. Please follow the instructions here.
Set up Globus endpoints:
Globus allows you to download data to your personal computer using Globus Connect Personal, or directly to your servers (recommended) using Globus Connect Server.
**SDSC USERS**
The San Diego Supercomputer Center has Globus ready to use. Please contact them to assist in creating an endpoint on your servers.
