Neil Chi

Neil C. Chi MD, PhD, Professor of Medicine, is Director of the UCSD Cardiovascular Genetics Clinic and Cardiac Tissue Harvest and Biorepository Core. His clinical and research focuses are on cardiac development/regeneration; novel disease gene targets and treatment; and gene and stem cell based therapies in heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, vascular disease, and congenital heart disease.

Dr. Chi has grants from National Institutes of Health and other foundations, and is the recipient of the 2010 NIH Director’s New Innovator Award that focuses on developing novel strategies for cardiac regeneration.
